La Golondrina, Cafe de Colombia
I am eagerly awaiting the release of Counter Culture’s batch of this Colombian coffee. It seems to have earned a special promotional T-shirt to announce it’s presence. They must have a deal with the farm because it is exclusive.
La Golondrina is a “mark” or “marque” (depending on your sexual orientation) that PeterG developed, similar to Intelligentsia’s origin marks (Colombia Tres Santos, Honduras La Tortuga, etc.). It is a coffee from one particular area of Colombia, but many individual farms, with coffees assembled by Peter based on his cupping. “La Golondrina” means “the swallow.” Nothing to do with not spitting, btw.
Look not only for the La Golondrina marque, but the release of micro-lots as well. Word is that there will be some knock-your-sox-off-and-the-soles-of-your-feet-too good shit in those microlots.
